Get ready to be TAKEN again

Any doubts we had a few months ago about Liam Neeson’s return as Bryan Mills in Taken 2 have been completely thwarted by the news that not only is he back, but this time it’s his daughter who rescues him!

This interesting plot detail comes with the unveiling of the chief villain as Murad, the revengeful father of one of the kidnappers slayed by Mills in the prequel who takes Mills and his estranged wife (Famke Janssen) hostage while they are on holiday in Istanbul. This, of course, forces his 17 year old daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) to return the favour. Murad is played by Rade Serbedzija, known for his role as the bad guy opposite Val Kilmer in The Saint and he’s obviously had a lot of practice if he’s managed to detain Bryan Mills – the man who gives MacGyver a run for his money.

What is uncertain is how the naïve and innocent Kim will be able to spring her ex-CIA agent father from Murad’s evil clutches. Something tells me Mills will be more behind the escape process than the released plot details reveal.

Filming went down on location in Turkey and France with Olivier Megaton replacing Pierre Morel as the director.

Get ready to be taken again on October 5, 2012.
